I’ll make this short, but there is a halving coming soon, and I have no idea how people will react to it so….
Why Is This Important?
For the same reason the Bitcoin halving is important.
Exact same concept, but lesser traded/held coin.
If you want the details on how this happens, and why it’s significant, just go here, they explain it better than I will.
Now what happened during the last LTC halving?
Absolutely fuck-all nothing.
You may see a slight, temporary bump during the days prior to, and after the halving.
But I wouldn’t anticipate much, unless the whole market starts to bull for some reason.
So I personally have no compulsion to buy any more LTC at this time.
Then again…I’m averaged into LTC at just under $50.
If you are, nicely done, then my advice (not financial advice, DYOR) is to hold tight and wait.
If you don’t have any LTC yet, it may not hurt to get a small bag you don’t care about just in case.
I’m bearish on the crypto market overall short term and even medium term, but if I’m wrong, I don’t want to be without any Litecoin.
Litecoin Is Significant
Litecoin is slept on, majorly.
It has withstood the test of time. It is almost 12 years old.
The network has never gone down.
It is used more often than BTC is, and this usage is growing.
If you think Litecoin is going to fade into obscurity because the nerds and the low-IQ moonbois don’t talk about it, I’ll happily take the other side of that argument.
Litecoin currently sits at #13 on CoinGecko, and #12 at CoinMarketCap.
If it was going to fade away, it would have happened already.
Due to their respective fixed supplies, for every LTC you buy, you’re getting 80x the piece of the overall pie as you would BTC (if my math is correct).
The future for payment coins like LTC and BTC long-term is very bright due to its decreasing supply from halving events, and macroeconomic conditions.
I’m very bullish on both long-term.
LTC just gives you more equity. I love that. When these things start to get really scarce over time, this is going to matter.
